Charge is Hiring a HR Compliance Specialist Near Concord, CA

Job Summary:

The HR Compliance Specialist plays a pivotal role in ensuring adherence to relevant laws, regulations, and company policies within the human resources function. This position involves overseeing various areas of compliance, reporting, and mitigating risks associated with HR record-keeping processes. In this position, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish and maintain a culture of compliance while supporting the organization's strategic goals.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for DOT drug and alcohol program (PHMSA & FMCSA)
    • Maintaining accurate pools/CE lists
    • Scheduling quarterly random drug tests to meet testing requirements
    • Manages follow-up program
    • Completing various DOT audits as required
    • Assisting with drug tests for post-accidents, both DOT & non-DOT
    • Assistance with subcontractor pool
  • Administer the DMV pull program and commercial driver program ensuring compliance with DOT, FMCSA and Clearinghouse regulations.
  • Responsible for maintaining driver files and active insured drivers list.
  • Respond to requests for information related to assigned human resources programs and activities including employment or DOT verifications requests.
  • Ensure company maintains compliance with all DOT federal and state regulations.
  • Assists with compliance training for HR, DOT and Company programs.
  • Maintain employee personnel files and assist with requests for copies.
  • Responsible for managing internal and external compliance reporting.
  • Maintains I-9 record compliance.
  • Responsible for running various reports our of HRIS system.
  • Assist with supporting HRIS system, provide technical support, troubleshooting, and guidance to HRIS users.
  • Provide additional support to the HR team as needed.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Working knowledge of HRIS software applications and products.
  • Ability to interpret, apply and explain DOT processes and procedures to employees.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to compose written correspondence independently.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Resourceful, analytical, and problem-solving aptitude.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Teams, Excel, etc.) and comfortable learning new technical systems as needed.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field preferred
    • Can be substituted with an associate degree and 4 years of experience in HR.
  • 3-5 years of experience in HR compliance, with specific experience in DOT drug and alcohol programs, DMV pull programs and commercial driver programs.
  • Strong knowledge of DOT PHMSA, FMCSA and Clearinghouse regulations.
  • Experience with Veriforce or NCMS a plus.

Compensation:

$66,560K -$74,000K

Physical requirements:

  • Must be able to lift up to 15lbs.
  • Work at a desk and on computer approximately 6-8 hours per day.
  • Perform with frequent interruptions and/or distractions.
  • Perform effectively under conditions of fluctuating workload.
  • Uses telephone and email to communicate with vendors, customers, and co-workers.
